What it does

Common questions

What kind of access token do I need?

A Hugging Face access token that can write to the repository you're uploading to. Create one in your Hugging Face account settings. Face Hugger keeps it in your Mac's Keychain. Removing the account in Face Hugger deletes its saved copy, but it doesn't revoke the token; do that in your Hugging Face settings.

Does my Mac need to stay awake?

Yes. Uploads run in the app, so it has to stay open and your Mac awake. Face Hugger can keep running after you close its window, and can optionally prevent idle sleep while it uploads.

Will uploading replace files that are already there?

Files at matching paths may be replaced; other remote files stay. Face Hugger shows matching paths before you start. A matching path doesn't prove the contents are the same.

Does Face Hugger send my files anywhere else?

No. Files go straight from your Mac to Hugging Face. There's no Face Hugger server, analytics or crash reporting. Dataset-card drafting runs on your Mac. See the privacy policy.

Still need a hand?

Email support@bubstack.dev. Include your macOS version, Face Hugger version, and the steps that led to the problem. Never send your access token.

Face Hugger is open source. You can also report a bug on GitHub, but anything posted there is public.

Face Hugger is an independent project, not an official Hugging Face application.
